The State of AI in 2024 in 15 Graphs

This IEEE Spectrum article neatly summarizes trends and recent developments within artificial intelligence (AI) in 2024, highlighting some interesting data points. 

First, closed models were shown to outperform open ones on a host of commonly used benchmarks. Second, it has become standard practice to test models against benchmarks in the field to give a sense of how one model performs against others.
